I Draw So You Don't Have To

Friends original art.

Sometimes I help friends out who can't really draw. Such was the case here. He had put together the image above which captured the emotion he desired but it lacked that professional quality.

Artwork make-over.

I used his art as the foundational framework for my artistic make-over.

Final usage.

This is the final context of the artwork.

Very nice makeover. Since this is artwork for a friend, I have a question: How do you treat art you create for friends? I constantly put myself in the situation of saying "yes" to people for unpaid (or very cheap) artwork for people I know even though I don't have time and they usually have unrealistic deadlines (like tomorrow). Any advice?

I only do it if I have the time and want too. Usually for something like this I trade out for a Starbucks Coffee Card.

The original drawing has a sort of a oldish comic style to it and is quite good actually. What you did id a cartoon like vector drawing, thats a completely different medium.

Cartoon vector drawings are so 2007 :P
