I have posted my first video tutorial at www.IllustrationClass.com

If you've enjoyed my other tutorials which document the systematic process I use to create my art, then click on over and watch me demonstrate it for you via video.

I hope you enjoy them and find them helpful.

Very helpful video. It's always good to see how the professionals work. Thanks Von!

{Got slightly lost on the slicing away of the parts of the shapes behind the foreground shapes}

Love the final artwork too!

Thanks for posting this. I always enjoy seeing how amazing your vector work is, and wondered how you go about converting your great illustrations.
I've always hated created vectors from scans, but that plug-in will make things way less of a hassle.
Keep up the good work!

Creative Crafter,

Think of the "PathFinder" functions like cookie cutters. The raw vector shape is the dough and the shapes above are the cookie cutters. The buttons on the "PathFinder" palette acts as your hand and cause the cutter to either punch out etc.

Thanks for these movies - looks like I've been using Illustrator incorrectly for years. In the first movie - what is the function you do to straighten the handles on the curve points you've selected (its around the two minute mark)?

Thanks.
